Install the Hikvision web plugin for Mac. Download it from the Hikvision website or from this google drive link. This plugin supports Mac OS 10.8 or later version. Please close the web browsers while you are installing the plugin. UPDATE: Hikvision firmware releases (NVR: 4.22.00 / Camera: 5.6.0) now supports a native plugin which allows for video viewing in Chrome and Firefox browsers. Hikvision's current use of NPAPI plugin for web browsers to display video no longer works in Google Chrome v45 (since September 2015) and in Firefox v52.0 released 7th march 2017. I am very new to CCTV and got a 4 camera HikVision 5mp system installed with a DVR-508-K1 3TB hard drive. I know you can access the cameras with an iPhone via the app and a web browser using the IP address on a Windows Browser.
I am having a lot of trouble accessing the cameras via an IP address using all Browsers on a Mac. I have tried, Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Chrome with IE extension. I have also tried a download from the Hikvision site. No luck. I have installed the plugins, still no luck.
Surely someone has managed to view the web cams via a browser on a Mac? Please can someone help me?
